Honeywell To Relocate Headquarters From New Jersey To Charlotte, North Carolina

Honeywell recently revealed plans to move its global corporate headquarters from New Jersey to Charlotte, North Carolina, and its Safety and Productivity Solutions (SPS) headquarters to Charlotte from Fort Mill, South Carolina. Honeywell says it made this decision based on “the recently passed North Carolina Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG) legislation becoming law and the final award of state and local incentives.”

Honeywell On The Move

The staffing process at the new headquarters will take place in several stages, with the first consisting of between 150 and

200 senior managers, currently in New Jersey, relocating to Charlotte along with 100 positions from South Carolina by September of 2019. The next step will be to add 500 more people to bring “total employment there to about 750 by the end of 2024,” according to Honeywell, which will come from several current locations. Honeywell adds that it will not abandon New Jersey and intends to keep around 1,000 employees at its six locations across the state, and will maintain Fort Mill, South Carolina, as “a significant employee center,” as well.
