About Miller

Miller Big Blue 500 Pro Welder Genreator
Miller Electric Mfg., based in Appleton, Wisconsin, was founded in 1929 as a one-man operation and has since grown into a leading manufacturer of welding products for a wide range of industries, including construction, shipbuilding, auto repair, aerospace, agriculture, and more. The company’s tagline is “The Power of Blue,” which also refers to both the purpose and color of its products. Miller is a wholly owned subsidiary of Illinois Tool Works (ITW), which acquired the business in 1993. Founded in 1912, ITW is based in Glenview, Illinois, and also owns Bernard, Elga, Hobart, Tregaskiss, Weldwell, and several other industrial equipment brands.
The Power Of Blue
Miller offers an extensive lineup of welders and other equipment as well as safety gear and accessories, including helmets and weld masks, safety glasses, gloves, wire feeders, remote controls, spot welding tongs, and much more. Miller specializes in MIG GMAW (gas metal arc welding), TIG (tungsten inert gas), stick, multi-process, multi-operator, submerged arc, and engine driven welders. Miller’s engine-driven welders can also power tools and other equipment and can serve as backup generators in the event of a worksite power loss.
The engine-driven welder lineup consists of the Fusion, Blue Star, Bobcat, Trailblazer, and Big Blue product families. Each model features a gasoline, diesel, or propane engine and an electrical generator to support welding operations. Power capacities range from 6.2 to 27 kilowatts, depending on whether the generator supports single- or three-phase operation. The Miller Blue Power 500 Pro engine-driven welder, for example, offers a single-phase peak power of 15 kilowatts and three-phase peak power of 27 kilowatts.
