Founded in 1919 by Clessie Cummins, the Cummins Engine Company is known today as Cummins Inc. Cummins began its acquisition of generator manufacturer Onan in 1986, and in 2017 repositioned the Onan brand as a product line for recreational vehicle power sources within the Cummins product family.
